Aveco systems control
user access to data as well as to TV technology. The
system administrators can define the access for every
user.
Access rights
User access rights may be granted to a
single playlist and even to the event sequences within
the playlist. For example, the continuity operator is
not approved to do changes in commercial breaks. These
breaks i turn can be edited by authorized person from
sales department, which has no right to edit the rest
of the playlist.
Access control rules apply also for videoserver
content management. Some operators or some departments
see and are able to manage some clips and do not see
clips from other departments. And within the departments
the operators have granted only the read access while
clip purging is dedicated only to selected experts.
Utilizing the TV equipment such as videoserver
I/Os, VTRs, even individual router outputs is dedicated
to those users which qualify according to the access
rights.
Priorities
Device control is allocated to users on
a request basis and conflicts between simultaneous requests
are handled by user priority or on a first-come first-served
basis for users of the same priority level.
Control takeover means the situation when
user with lower priority is using the resource (videoserver
output channel, for example) and when user with higher
priority needs it, he just starts using it. The dialog
appears asking whether to take over the control from
user XY. After pressing Enter the control is taken over.
