AVECO automation
can control robotic archiving systems with intelligence.
Automated sequence can be programmed for moving clips
from archive to playout devices and for storing clips
to archives. For example, all commercials entering the
system can be set up for automatic archiving while incoming
program feeds are not archived. Or, all clips recorded
to a videoserver can be assigned for automatic archiving.
For playout, AVECO automation will look for archived
tapes of clips on the playlist and transfer these clips
to playout devices. The workflow configuration for automated
archiving and retrieval can be set up to best meet your
needs.
AVECO automation also provides support
for traditional shelf-based tape libraries. Our systems
integrate bar-code scanners at the VTR and printers
for bar-code labels. When a clip on the playlist is
located on an archived tape, the system will provide
the operator the tape ID and cuing position for the
clip. If bar-code scanning is installed, the automation
system will recognize the tape regardless of the VTR
it is inserted too and prepare the clip for playout
from that VTR automatically. There is no need to tell
the automation system what VTR is being used for what
clip.
