AVECO automation
offers a vide menu of capabilities for final preparation
for broadcast of both events on the playlist and the
media content. The system also supports previewing sequences
to insure quality broadcasts.
The automation system keeps a log of all
activity performed on the system allowing tracking of
what user-station has done what with media and records
in the database.
Preparing the playlist
- Events can be added easily
- The daily schedule includes a spyglass feature
to allow read and edit access to all information,
including metadata, related to any highlighted
event.
- The spyglass can also be used insert an event
into the playlist.
- Events can be copied and transferred
using a clipboard.
- Event can be reassigned as main, alternate
or parallel events.
- Events can be deleted or marked as
skipped events.
- Blocks and grouped events can be edited
in the same way as events.
- Content mix is calculated as changes
are made to the playlist. This feature can answer
the question: how much time is dedicated to commercials
for every hour of programming? Or, how much time is
dedicated to jingles? Or, time dedicated to any other
clip category. This feature provides live feedback
as changes are made to the playlist to ensure the
programming mix is maintained to specifications.
Preparing the media
The jog-wheel on the dedicated keyboard
that is provided with all AVECO automation terminals
facilitates:
- Quality control for quick browsing
of long clips
- Marking IN and OUT points
- Cuts-only editing
- Timing
The automation's capabilities to define
events and synchronize media streams allows:
- matching video to audio steams
- Preparing simulcasted and repurposed
media
- Developing complex programming sequences
and layered clip playout
Previewing sequences
AVECO automation supports preview of event
sequences and transitions. Preview mode allows users
to preview a whole block or selected clips in the block.
It allows for jogging through the selected clips, adjusting
IN and OUT points, editing the clip and previewing transitions
between clips. Previewing gives stations added confidence
during playout that the broadcast will take place as
planned.
