ASTRA's work begins on the information
network with the acquisition of playlists from each
department of a broadcast station (programming, commercial,
news and promotion) in batch or in continuous mode.
ASTRA interfaces with traffic and other playlist systems
using two-way, dynamic data exchange to deliver a tightly
coupled, quick reaction workflow that supports live
teamwork even moments before air time.
ASTRA can be configured to provide each
department access to the on-air playlist and the content
library, including thumbnail views, low-res browsing
and all metadata, on their own network. For example,
the commercial department, from its computer terminals,
could be given access to browse the playout videoserver
and revise the playout time for an ad.
ASTRA consolidates playlists from each department into
a single list that directs the on-air broadcast. Event
overlaps and programming gaps are flagged.
Please read here the list of traffic
systems currently used in conjunction with our automation
systems.
