Our goal is that customers have an automation
solution that fits their needs the day the system is delivered
and throughout the life of the system. Therefore, AVECO is
committed to providing ongoing support to our installations.
We have a unique capability for providing reliable support.
We have engineering staff in place for round-the-clock, on-line
support and for quick, on-site response.
We offer support
as part of a system's warranty and through a variety of service
contracts that include different levels of preventive maintenance,
fault recovery, system modification and upgrades.
Preventive maintenance
- On-line system monitoring: AVECO engineers conduct
comprehensive analyses of system's performance via modem or internet
and e-mail system-status reports to the customer.
- On-site visits: AVECO engineers visit customers
facilities to inspect automation systems and controlled devices
beyond on-line monitoring capabilities. Discussions take place
about system workflow and other customer needs. Experienced AVECO
engineers provide a sounding board and offer insight for new ideas.
Simple system modifications are performed.
Fault recovery
- On-line emergency assistance: In case of problems
that affect broadcasting, AVECO engineers are available by phone
or email around the clock, every day of the year. AVECO engineers
can correct a wide range of system problems remotely via on-line
access to the automation server.
- On-site visit: For system problems that cannot
be resolved remotely, AVECO sends an engineering team to the customer's
site.
- Spare parts: Replacement power supplies and hard
disks for the automation server(s) are standard equipment. Replacement
hard disks can be formatted and sw installed by AVECO via a modem
connection to the automation server.
In the case of ASTRA and PROCON automation servers, where specialty
boards are used to connect to controlled equipment and the information
network, spare parts are either stored at the customer's site
or close to it and are shipped within one business day of a customer's
request.
System Modification
- System administration: Changes to user rights
and priorities or other system adjustments that do not require
changing set-up configurations are made via an on-line connection
within one business day of a customer's request.
- System expansion and change: AVECO is ready to
add devices, add operator stations, expand the number of broadcast
channels or change the system's workflow configuration. Whether
you need a simple workflow adjustment or a major reconfiguration
to support a new business model, we are committed to adjusting
your system to your needs.
System Upgrades
- Software upgrades: Upgrades to our automation
systems are installed as they become available.
- Hardware upgrade: Usually done every three years,
the automation server hardware is upgraded (based on a Service
contract).
Understanding AVECO's unique capability to provide
support:
Our commitment to provide support matches our system's
unique capability to deliver it safely. Our systems are flexible,
reliable and easy to reconfigure.
Have you ever asked for a change to the system installed
by an automation provider that never got implemented? Have you wondered
why you could not get a response? The real reason may not be as
simple as lack of commitment to post-installation support. Unless
that automation system is built and run with memory protection,
it could be that the supplier is afraid of introducing a change
that will make their entire automation system unstable. Unless that
automation system allows for hot-swapping modules, it could take
shutting down the system to implement a change. And, unless that
system provides remote access to the software modules, it could
mean an engineer has to be onsite to implement even minor modifications.
AVECO systems are built and run on memory protected
address spaces that can be hot-swapped, even remotely using a modem
or internet connection to the automation server. .
Memory protection means that the modules we use to
build your automation system cannot interfere with the operation
of other modules. Therefore, making a change does not threaten the
integrity of your AVECO system.
Hot-swapping means that to solve a problem, to upgrade,
to expand, to reconfigure set-up parameters, modules can be stopped,
started, exchanged while the system stays on-air.
These fundamental building blocks provide highly flexible
systems that can be adjusted without threatening their reliability
or interfering with ongoing operations. And since we can do all
this via modem or internet connection to your AVECO automation server,
changes can be implemented when you request them.
Our unique capability to provide high-level
support and our commitment to respond to your calls means that with
us you will enjoy real-time response to your requests.
